Hello, I would like to let everyone know about a current project I am involved in. FireFly will be a fully Free Software Complete library system. It hopes to challenge Dynix with completness. It is still in the early development stages but is moving along quickly. If anyone would like some more information about the project or if someone would like to contribute information or help with the coding, please visit our project page at Firefly Project page and also feel free to join our mailing list and give input. Thank you, John Hornbeck FireFly Project Leader

Hiya, I think there are a lot of people who read this site who have either wanted to do what you're doing or have actually given it a go, to varying degrees of success. And those people are probably very interested in learning more about FireFly. So it would be really helpful if you could point us to a project plan, or a requirements doc, or a manifesto, etc., so we could understand what you want to accomplish, and how doing so would be worth separate effort from projects like Koha, Avanti, PhpMyBibli, PYTHEAS, etc. Please do tell us more, and good luck in any case. -Dan

A website with all the information about FireFly is on its way. I just wanted to give everyone a heads up on the project. I will post more as it comes up. John Hornbeck

As seen on the OpenEJB list. I wonder if there's some lessons from the Open Source CMS crowd with OSCOM that could be brought in here. There's quite a range of OSS CMS solutions, yet there seems to be some attempt to create some synergy with data models. Hmmm... I wonder how OSCOM manages to get funding for conferences...
