The first version of my new linking software is now in use handling linking to about 50% of SFU's potential targets. So far all is well, and updating the title lists is far easier than managing jake updates.

The system currently takes an OpenURL in and can provide XML results for other systems to use or present the user with results based on a template. Management is all through a fairly pretty web interface, including updating global title lists, activating local resources, managing partial title subscriptions, etc.

It's designed for consortia and uses a global title list with local overrides for each site. Sites can configure things like proxy prefixes, ranking of results and deduping provider results. Sites can also load local title lists without needing access to edit the global system. Resources are generic and can be used to link to journal providers (article level, journal level, etc.), book providers, search engines, catalogues, or whatever you can come up with.

While it's missing some features of more mature linking systems like SFX, it is designed to eventually be a reasonable replacement. We wont need the features yet, but for other consortia that may want to use it eventually it would be trivial to add things like IP range based site matching, modifying the OpenURL parsing based on the source of the link, and other features that GODOT currently handles.

Baby ETA: 4 weeks today.
